Tesamorelin is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) composed of 44 amino acids. It has a molecular formula of C₂₂₁H₃₆₆N₇₂O₆₇S, a molecular weight of 5,135.9 g/mol, and is also known by the research designation TH9507 (CAS 218949-48-5).
Its structure is identical to naturally occurring human GHRH, except for the addition of a trans-3-hexenoic acid group attached to the tyrosine residue at position 1, which increases its resistance to enzymatic degradation.
